It turns out many of us are using Google the same way. Derrik, Trevor, and myself Google troubleshooting resolutions. If I’m stumped and can’t figure out how to do something, I jump on Google figuring someone else was probably stumped the same way I am. Trevor does the same noting it’s the “quickest way to get past the problem most of the time.” Derrik specifically looks for Linux-related troubleshooting.
Many writers, despite authoring tutorials themselves, are Googling others’ tutorials. Jeffry finds himself looking for specific tutorials such as how to swap an optical drive with SSD on a Mac. Trevor does the same such as how to do a task in GIMP. Himanshu is interested specifically in Linux tutorials and just about everything else Linux as well. Tips and tricks are big with our writers as well. Jeffrey, Himanshu, and Mahesh all search for tips and tricks. Specifically, he’s looking for tips and tricks that help him make his daily tasks easier. You might not even know that there is a tip or trick to possibly speed things up or help you in another way until you just happen to uncover it on Google. Himanshu and I both look up tech news as well. That’s how I stay on top of what the rumors are for the next iPhone or new apps or even updates to existing apps and software that I didn’t know about such as Facebook and Instagram’s frequent changes.
