Features

Highly Customizable: Unlike other calendar apps, you can customize and change the look and feel of Rainlendar by changing different skins with just a couple of clicks. There is a huge collection of skins available for free, and if you wish you can even mix and match different skin styles for each and every window. Schedule Events and Tasks: With Rainlendar you can easily create custom-scheduled tasks and events. Since Rainlendar treats events and tasks as two different things, it will be much easier to keep track of all your upcoming appointments. Supports Multiple Calendars: If you are already using other calendars like Google Calendar, Outlook, etc.., then you can easily integrate them with Rainlendar and edit all your appointments and tasks. Moreover, you can also share the data with third parties. Since Rainlendar uses a standard iCalendar format to store all the data, you can easily move data back and forth. Supports Multiple Platforms: Rainlendar supports multiple platforms like Windows, Linux, and Mac. If you are moving between platforms, you will have Rainlendar and its features.

Installation and Usage

Rainlendar is available both in free and pro versions where the free version is a bit limited in the features you get. You can download Rainlendar from its official website and install like any other software. If you already have your license with you, right click on the desktop widget and select the option “Install the license.” Now browse for the license and open it. This action will install the license; just click on the “Refresh” button to finish the process. To create an event, right click on the “Events” widget and select the “New Event” option. The above action will open the “Event” window. Here you can fill all the relevant details regarding your event. As you can see, you can customize a whole lot of things like category, starting and ending time, private or shared, recurrence, etc. You can even select other calendars if needed. Just go through the options while filling it out and click on the “Ok” button to save the changes. Once the event is created, it will show up in the “Events” widget on your desktop. You can also create reminders for “To Do” tasks in the same manner. Besides creating and editing tasks, you can add third-party calendars. To add a third party calendar, right click on the calendar widget and select “Options.” Now, navigate to the “Calendars” tab and click on the “Add” button to add a new calendar. Here in this screen, select the calendar you want from the available options and click on the “Next” button. For instance, I’ve selected “Google Calendar v3” as my third-party calendar. Now enter your Google account email address and click on the button “Select Calendar.” This action will open up the Google authentication windows. Simply enter your password and authenticate the connection. Enter the name of you calendar and click on the “Finish” button to add the Google Calendar to Rainlendar. That’s all there is to do, and if everything went well, you will see your added calendar under the calendars list. Moreover, you can easily pick and choose between calendars with just a right click on the desktop widgets. This is actually a nice touch if you want to move back and forth between calendars or have all the calendars displayed at the same time.

Conclusion

Apart from the ones discussed here, there are a lot more features which are quite useful in daily usage. What I really like about Rainlendar is that it is quite easy to use for normal users while providing almost all the advanced features to tinker with. All in all, Rainlendar is handy and do give it a try as it is also available as a free version. Rainlendar
