I use page titles a lot, especially when blogging. I often use the page title as the title tag for hyperlinks, so it’s extremely important that I’m able to see the full title. Luckily, I’ve found a Chrome extension that helps with this issue. Show Title Tag is the perfect solution; it displays a title bar at the bottom of any Web page along with the full title tag. Here’s how to view page titles for any tab in Chrome:
Install the Show Title Tag extension from the Chrome Web Store.
Browse to any Web page and you should see the title displayed in the bottom right corner of the page. This is the default position.
If you don’t want the title bar displayed in the right corner, click on the arrow at the far right and the bar will move to the left corner. Clicking the arrow again will move it to the top left corner and again, to the top right corner. You can keep moving it around in clockwise rotation, until you’re happy with its position.
You can also hide the title bar if you don’t want it on a specific page. Just click on the “x” to temporarily hide it. If you refresh the page or go to a new page, it will reappear.
You can also hover your mouse over the title to see the character length. Now you’ll be able to see the full title of any Web page that you visit.
