Face Swap is very easy to activate. First, you need to make sure you have the front-facing camera turned on and long-press on your face. After a few seconds you should see a white mesh appear on your face as if Spider-Man threw something at your face. If nothing happens on the first try, try a few more times; it didn’t always work the first time for me. You will now see a variety of options in the form of circles on the lower part of the screen. Once you are done enjoying those like I did, slide all the way to the end where you will find the Face Swap feature. For this to work, both people have to be in front of the camera, and you have to align your faces so that both smiley faces turn yellow. Then press the circle with the two smiley faces and the arrows.
I tried doing Face Swap with my Yorkie, but it looks like it doesn’t work with pets. That would have been a fun picture to see. Make sure you keep your phone nice and steady or Snapchat will lose the effect, and you will have to start all over like I did. To Face Swap with someone with you in your image, tap on the second to last option and you can switch faces with someone you have in your gallery of pictures. If you want to switch faces with your uncle Tom from Texas, you can do so without him being there.
How to Save a Face Swap Picture
You are surely going to come across some hilarious pictures, and you will naturally want to keep them to show them off at work. When you and your buddy are in the image, press the yellow button with the two smiley faces in it to capture the moment. Once the picture is saved, in the bottom left-hand side of the display you will see an arrow pointing down with a line under it. Tap that and the picture is going to be saved to your device’s gallery. If you don’t want to take your hands off your phone’s frame, you can take a screenshot with a button combination that works on Samsung Galaxy Smartphones. Long-press both the volume up and home button simultaneously until you hear a click sound. Once you hear it, you can let go, and you will find the screenshot in the gallery. The following is how you can take a screenshot with phones other than a Samsung.
HTC: Press and hold the volume down and the power button. If that doesn´t work you can try pressing the home and power button simultaneously. LG: Press the Power/Lock key that is located on the back in the phone and the volume down key at the same time. Huawei: Press the power and the volume down button at the same time, but don´t release the buttons until it makes a shutter noise. Sony: Press the Power/Lock button until you see a pop-up window, and select Take a Screenshot. iPhone: Press the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time. On newer phones the Sleep/Wake button is on the top right, and on newer phones it’s on the side of the phone on the right.
