1. Cloudii

We have previously covered Cloudii, an app that allows you to connect and manage multiple cloud storage services on Android. With Cloudii, you can connect to multiple Dropbox accounts too.

If you have installed the default Dropbox app, Cloudii will authenticate with the Dropbox app so you don’t have to enter your username and password again. The caveat is that you won’t be able to add additional Dropbox accounts as the Dropbox app is interfering with the authentication process (for subsequent account). The workaround is to click the “Use different account” link on the authentication page.

You will then be directed to the web interface where you can login with the alternate Dropbox account. The good thing about Cloudii is that you can create a connection link that connect a local folder and your Dropbox account. When you place a file in the local folder, it will automatically sync to your Dropbox account. If you are looking to synchronize multiple Dropbox accounts with your Android local folder, this is the best solution you can get.

2. ES File Explorer

ES File Explorer is a file manager for your Android. With it, you can view the internal filesystem of your Android phone and move files around in the SD card. Other than your local files, ES File Explorer also allows you to connect to various cloud storage providers so you can access your files that are stored in the cloud.

Unlike Cloudii, ES File Explorer doesn’t make use of the Dropbox app to authenticate your account, so you won’t have the technical limitation you see in Cloudii. ES File Explorer makes use of the Web interface to authenticate your Dropbox accounts. The process is very smooth and I managed to set up multiple accounts within a minute. As it is a file manager, managing files is its forte. Be it files that reside in your Dropbox, or in the SD card, you can easily copy/paste/move them between one another seamlessly.

3. Astro Cloud Manager

Astro is a file manager just like ES File Explorer and it allows you to connect to multiple cloud storage services as well. It does have the same problem with Cloudii, though you can solve it easily by clicking the “use different account” link. Personally, I prefer Es File Explorer over Astro as I am more used to its user interface. However, Astro is hugely popular, so if you are one of its followers, you may want to use this app over ES File Explorer to connect to multiple Dropbox accounts.

4. Primadesk

Primadesk is another cool app like Cloudii that allows you to connect to multiple cloud storage services and manage all your files in one interface. The advantage it has over Cloudii is the number of providers that you can connect to in Primadesk. While Cloudii only supports 6 cloud storage services, Primadesk supports up to 39 services.

Conclusion

The above mentioned 4 apps are some of the applications that support multiple Dropbox accounts (and many other cloud storage services). It is definitely not a conclusive list as there are many more file manager apps that have similar functionality as ES File Explorer and Astro. While there are several apps that bring Dropbox synchronization (such as Dropsync and Dropspace) functionality to your phone, they do’t have support for multiple Dropbox accounts. Hopefully, more Dropbox synchronization apps can come out with support for multiple accounts synchronization. Do let me know if you have come across any.
