You won’t want to use this Android app to remember to get bread and milk on the way home (although you could). Call Reminder is more about having a reminder that you need to call the doctor’s office to make an appointment, or call Holly back to start planning the rock climbing vacation details.
Setting a reminder
Setting a reminder is pretty straight forward. Start by opening the app and enter your reminder note. You will see a an option to set a call back alarm if you choose.
If you choose to use the timer, you will need to set the time and date at least 3 minutes in the future. When the time arrives, you will have an alarm go off to remind you of the call you need to make and what it is about.
In call reminder notes
One of the many cool features is the in-call notes. When you have something to talk to someone, you can add a reminder note attached to that person’s contact information. Then when you call them or they call you, there will be a pop up while you are on a call with them to remind you of what you needed to talk to them about. In the application settings, you can choose how long you want the reminder text to be displayed while you are on the call.
Managing reminders
There is a screen to manage all of the reminders you set up. There is an option to make the reminder active or inactive, as well as modify them if needed.
After the call
After you make a call, whether it was one you set a reminder for or not, there are other choices if you choose to use them.
Add reminder – If you have to make a follow up call, you can immediately set a reminder. This way you wont forget to do it later. Google Task – If there is a to-do that came out of the call, you can add a Google Task right then and there. This will help you add the talk to your to-do list while the details about the task(s) fresh in your mind.
Add to calendar – If you made an appointment while on the call, you can click the Add to calendar tab and add the appointment right now. That way, if you see any potential conflict, you can call them back right away.
Conclusion
While the Call Reminder Notes is a paid application, there is a free trial. I think once you start to use it and see how much of a help it is to have reminders on who you need to call and what you wanted to talk to them about, you will gladly pay the couple dollars it costs. The way it integrates with other parts of your phone and/or Google account make it a great buy.
